Wondering how exfoliating foot peels work?
Thanks to the popular Baby Foot® exfoliating foot peel, you can enjoy perfectly smooth and soft feet all year round. There really is no secret to it. In this article, we will look at how exfoliating foot masks work, how to use them, and why the Baby Foot® peel remains chief among all exfoliation choices.
Most of us find ourselves spending more time at home these days, running between zoom meetings, and answering home-school questions. Being busier than usual has made a quick trip to the salon for a pedicure not as accessible as it used to be.
So, any home-based product that makes life a little easier is always welcome. The Baby Foot® Exfoliating Foot Peel does just that. Foot peels (sometimes called masks) are well known for removing layers of unwanted, dead skin while treating and leaving new skin supple and nourished.
But how exactly does an exfoliating foot mask work?
Thanks to our combination of 17 natural acids and conditioning ingredients, the Baby Foot® Exfoliating Foot Peel has set the benchmark for foot peel treatments with its unique combination of natural fruit and flower ingredients. Originally designed to treat fungal infections, the modified Baby Foot® peel now moisturises, exfoliates, and nourishes feet as well.
Each natural extract adds high moisturising and astringent (acidic) properties to the treatment. Citrus Oil, from Oranges, is a well-known anti-inflammatory, while malic Acid which is found in apples is a powerful astringent which encourages exfoliation. Anti-inflammatories and antioxidants like Watercress, Soapwort and Green Tea plants play an important role in healing and calming the skin during a foot peel treatment. Marigolds and Chamomile add moisture to new skin thanks to their skin conditioning properties.
The key exfoliating ingredient being alpha hydroxy acid disrupts the bond between skin cells. This results in skin peeling naturally, working from the inside out as opposed to conventional methods which involve scrubbing dead skin away from the surface down. Alpha-hydroxy acids also leave new skin nourished and moisturised, resulting in pleasant soft, smooth and supple feet.
The Baby Foot® Exfoliating Foot Peel treatment comes with two easy to apply plastic booties, they are mess free making them the perfect go to for at-home use. Rinse both your feet for at least 5 minutes under warm water before beginning the treatment – this is super important as it helps ensure the formula in the booties is absorbed into each of your feet. Ok, so with rinsing your feet done, we suggest you settle down in a comfortable spot and avoid walking around once the booties are applied as they can be slippery.
With the booties on, you simply put your feet up for an hour and let the treatment go to work. To enhance the absorption process, use a pair of our extra comfy room socks to secure the booties in place and to make the gel formula inside them fit snug against your skin – allowing your feet to soak up even more of the gel.
During this hour, the ingredients start to penetrate the surface of the skin, being absorbed by the surrounding cells. When the hour is up, you should rinse your feet in warm water.
Over the next 7 – 10 days, the skin cells in your feet will start to loosen and break down the thick bonds between dead skin cells. You must rinse your feet daily for at least 5 minutes and massage under warm water to aid along the peeling process as water activates peeling. Water keeps the ingredients active while they work at a cellular level. And when ready to be released, your skin will start to peel.
Peeling starts slowly and increases over the days that follow. Most importantly, do not pull the skin off yourself as this can be painful and interfere with the process. When the peeling stage is over you will have the softest, smoothest and most supple baby feet. To keep your feet moisturised and ever so soft you can use a hydrating foot cream (like the Baby Foot® Extra Rich Foot Cream) to maintain your silky soft feet once the peeling process has finished.
